Why do we do dots to teach mathematics?

The traditional way of introducing mathematics is to introduce the numerals. However, numerals are meaningless. It is just a picture to them.

Why must we do the flash card in a fast speed?

Two reason why we flash so fast:

  1. Learning speed of a child is too fast, so if we will to do it slowly, we will not be able to gain the child’s attention.
  2. When we flash the card fast, we are stimulating the child’s right brain, as they do not have the chance to analyse the cards. They will try to recall the images in their mind; they are actually using their right brain.

Will my child be confused if he/she attends a kindergarten that adopts Phonics?

No, he will not be confused because it is a new skill altogether. In fact, he will be having fun because he can learn with ease.

I have laid off the program for some time now (Reason: Either busy or sick). How do I get started again?

You do not need to start all over again from the beginning. Just start with some familiar words and subsequently move on to the new words. Your child will be able to do a revision on the old words.

Is it possible for my child to learn to read even when my child is not talking yet?

Yes, reading is a brain function and not a speech function. We can read the newspaper silently and still understand the article.
